The Tally

Sydney Cardew is an artist, designer, poet and illustrator from the UK. She studied MA Fine art at the Arts University Bournemouth, where her work focused on the medium of Artist's Books. She has written, drawn or designed 18 books and counting under her own name, her former name and her illustration pseudonym 'DS Blake', ranging across a wide variety of styles and genres, as well as working on numerous commercial and private projects. Her poetry has been published in several journals and edited collections. She is currently working on a children's book about childlessness, a board game about dwarven disaster capitalism, a book of illustrations about LGBTQ+ history and her second collection of poetry, 'A Record of the Plague Quarter', expected to be published in 2021.
